ABOUT US
Nick and Keely met at grad school in 2015; Nick, a fresh-faced masters student, Keely a grizzled doctoral candidate. The Graduate Students Association hosted a welcome-week bar social and, as Nick sat alone by a fence on the pub porch, Keely eagerly swooped in, winged by her friends Sarah and Natalie, to make an introduction. Nick snapped-to with a bit of a start at the whole team's arrival, but after it was clear they meant him no immediate harm, he invited them to sit and the new friends all settled in to enjoy the evening. After a while, a panhandler (known to the returning students for making garish, offensive jokes) gate-crashed the party, rudely interrupting conversations and dampening the mood badly. But Keely, promptly and with righteous force, yelled at him to 'gEt ThE hEcK OUT of here!"

It was, more or less, love from then on!

Nick often says Keely's singing was the first thing he loved about her. One semester, Keely was covering Renee Fleming for a new song cycle by Kevin Puts, and rehearsing it at school. Nick would dash to the theater between appointments, slip into the closed rehearsals, and climb all the way to the top of the upper balcony where he would camp out with his work, tucked away on the floor behind the farthest seats in the house, so he could listen to Keely sing. Renee was wonderful, but no one captured him like Keely could.

Our venue, Wildwood, is located in Little Rock, AR. The Clinton National Airport is located in Little Rock and flights are widely available, as well as Amtrak service to downtown Little Rock - Uber, Lyft and other transportation are available to take you to the hotel once you have arrived in town. If you are driving yourself, the hotel is accessible from Interstate 430.

We recommend booking a room as soon as you can, given the high demand for rooms over the holiday, and the number of our traveling guests from around the country who will all be staying at the same hotel - simply explain that you are booking for the Futterer/Huff wedding to access the special rate.
wedding gifts
One of the best parts of being an opera singer is traveling and seeing the world. Exploring a new city, eating the local favorites, practicing our languages, and meeting new people - singing abroad gave us some of the best experiences either of us has ever had! But we have never been able to travel together. Traveling outside of work is expensive, especially for two. In large part, we already have what we need for a kitchen, home, and bedroom - What we're most excited to do after the pandemic is see the world; this time with each-other! The most meaningful gift for us both would be an experience. We would love to see Italy, Ireland, and other new places and just be tourists for once. On our next audition or work trip, we would love to add a vacation to the end and actually take the time to go somewhere wonderful and truly enjoy it! A trip like that would be even more special knowing it was a wedding gift from our friends and family.
